TERROIR was appointed as the lead consultant of a broad team with expertise across urban design, landscape architecture, circular economies and sustainability responsible for the delivery of the Stage 1 Master Plan for the Agribusiness Precinct. The masterplan for the first stage of the precinct is intended to have a catalytic role in unlocking key changes within the ecosystem of related industries, ensuring that it supports the ongoing transformational evolution that will occur progressively in the precinct.
The Precinct is currently a rural area of Western Sydney and has had a role in providing land for agriculture and rural lifestyle in close proximity to the metropolitan area for some time. Whilst this has been part of the green band that has protected the natural edges of the area, and houses primarily small centres and villages, this will change significantly as it evolves towards the strategic role that has been identified for the Aerotropolis in concert with the Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA).
A massive shift will occur in this area of Sydney and the other surrounding growth areas, and the volume of new hard and soft infrastructure to deliver is immense.
